Well first of all, I'm new to the website. I've been searching through the forums for about two hours now, and I've learned a whole lot. Needless to say, I need some help.. I'm willing to learn too!
I had a 10" MTX Thunder 6000 in my car ran by some cheap e-Bay amp (I was on a super tight budget and wanted some type of amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif). Well, the other day I was at my friends and I was helping her clean her garage. Her ex left behind 2 10" subs in a ported box. So she gave them to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif.
Here's the old specs on the amp
45W RMS x 4 @ 4 Ohms
75W RMS x 4 @ 2 Ohms
120W RMS x 2 @ 4 Ohms Bridged
800W Peak.
and the old sub had these specs
Mode: T6104
Impedance: 4 Ohm
Power Handling(RMS/Total): 250/500
Voice Coil: 2"
Alright, on to the NEW subs (2 10"). They are Rockford Fosgate Punch HE 10" subs [just found out that I live 2 miles away from the Rockford Fosgate HQ =) ], they have the following specs:
Model: Punch HE
Impedance: 4/8 (what's that exactly mean..?)
Power Handling(RMS/Total): 200/400
Voice Coil: 1"
I need something better than this crap e-Bay sub, given, it DOES power them. I want something better. My friend has 2 12" boss subs powered by a mono-block Kenwood that shake my house when he's near. I don't need that much power, but I want something good..
My limit is lets say, around $200? I'm not looking for a handout, I'm looking for some help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif.
Thank you in advance,
-Travis.
