hi guys im new in here and i know just a little bit about car audio so i was hoping if u can help me:crazy:

first of all i have a pioneer 4200mp with 50x4 and i want to change my speakers

i found the pioneer 260 wattts 4 way or 3 way for front( 50watts nominal)

and pioneer 460 watts 5 way for rear (80 watts nominal)

so do i need an amp a 4 channel one for all the speakers or just a 2 channel one for the rear ones

or do i get a 4 channel one and connect only 2 for the rear speakers and leave 2 in case i get a sub in the future

last thing what amp would fit well

thanx alot guys

First thing, your deck doesnt do 50 x 4. Thats a peak rating (also known as max) and is pretty much meaningless.

Usually, its recommended that you ditch the rear speakers, and put a nice set of components up front. Whats your budget for speakers and an amp? That will go a long way in determining what people should recommend for you.

Most here on this forum seem to think that any effort dedicated to rear fill is misplaced energy at best and a complete waste at worst. This isn't an opinion I happen to share but I do understand the reasoning behind putting more emphasis up front rather than behind you.

First off: Ignore the 50w X 4 rating on your CD player. You will never get that amount of useable output from that (or any other) head unit and the only reason that rating is there in the first place is for marketing purposes.

If you replace all four speakers then getting an amp for all four of them would be perfectly acceptable - then at some later stage you'll need a second amp for any sub(s) you may add to your setup.

You can use half of a 4ch amp to power coaxial or component speakers then bridge the other half for your substage - no problem with that at all. What you could do for the now is upgrade your speakers, get a 4ch amp to power all of them, and if you should add a subwoofer at some later stage then bridge the rear channels on the amp to drive the subwoofer and power the rear speakes from the head unit while still powering your front stage with the amp.

Just my $0.02

i don't know the prices in the us but i can't afford to get 4 pioneer speakers 2front and 2 rear and a 4 channel amp pioneer or may be kicker
