A good friend of mine was give a really off the wall pair of 12" subs and is really set on using them....
They are some brand ""Radion 12s"" I am pretty sure they are either made or sold or both in Germany, because a lot of the instructions sheet's text wording...
I mean, I don't even have alot of those letters on my keyboard, unless I start messing with exteneded ascii...
At anyrate he has some goofy instructions with the following
Thiele Small Parameters (that they list are)
fs= 30HZ
Qts= 0.47
Vas= 93L (guessing thats Liters)
The enclosure is shown two ways, 1st just a small diagram showing a ported sub with the following specs under it
V= 48I
d= 10cm
I= 28cm
f= 42Hz
Then they show an actual photo of an enclosure that has two subs with each with 2 round ports to the outside of each sub (for a total of 4 ports)
Dimmensions listed are:
Width 87,5cm or 34.44"
Height 35,7cm or 14.05"
Depth @ Bottom 47cm or 18.50"
Depth @ Top 34cm or 13.3"
(angled box, looks to me like some type of hatch back or trunk box)
I guess my biggest question is, by looking at all the info I'm not what the port length and diameter are supposed to be...
I can only guess that
V= 48I is box volume of 48 Literes or 1.6- 1.7 CF (althought the above dimensions look more like
d= 10cm is port diameter of 10 cm or 3.94"
I= 28cm is port length of 11.02"
f= 42Hz is the tunning Freq of 42Hz, which sounds really high.... Not sure what thats about.... Maybe Germans like Bass tunned higher....
I'm not 100% sure that thats what they mean...
Can you guys take a look and see if that box size looks about right and then if thats right for the port or what should it be???
