I HAVE A 1979 BUICK LESABRE...I JUST INSATLLED A SONY XPLOD IN THIS CAR BUT I KEEP LOSING MY MEMORY EVERY TIME THE CAR IS TURN OFF. THIS OF COURSE IS A OLD CAR . IT DOESN'T HAVE A BLUE WIRE TO CONNECT TO THE DECK.I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM OR NOT . It sounds like you connected the power to the accessory power. Its only getting power when the car is on(switched source). there should be a red wire and a yellow wire: red should be connected to a constant 12v source, the yellow should be on a switched source.

EDIT: Did you use a harness to hook it up or just hardwire it to the car's wires?

Exactly the opposite: yellow is for constant power, red is for switched.
