ok ok ok now before everyone starts *****in i would like to point this out...my lil brother wants bass...doesnt wanna spend alot, doesnt have to sound perfect, just wants something loud and to show off to his friends, hint hes 16, okay to the point of the thread, ive dealt with a few mtx subs and i loved every one, but, i was wondering if maybe 6 Roadthunder mtx 12s runnin say 200 watts to each one, in sealed boxes, do you think that would be pretty straight. he thinks of car stereo as sumthin you put in your car for everyone else to hear, and i cant convince him otherwise, this isn't an spl setup just a loud one, plus we live in the country so its really not gonna disturb anyone. and suggestions?

i mean i've glanced at them from time to time at circuit city they look like decent begineer subs, i told him i would help him with it as long as it wasnt an audiobahn system (disreguard my avatar, jr mistakes), would these be okay though

I've had great results with MTX - as has brandontw, running four tens.

They're a notable brand, and 'not JL.'

If he wants bling, let him buy bling; But if you can teach him the ropes, get a healthy box in his trunk, and he should be able to hold his own when it comes time to show off no matter which kind of subs he's runnin. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Are the CompVRs stll on sale?

Check mitekfactoryoutlet.com for MTX deals.

And I've got a 10" 8000 (8104a) you can get cheaply, it's a heavy *****, and 100% mint, with less than an hour of playtime.

My bother in law has an s-10 blazer with 4 12" MTX MZS and it is loud as hell:crap: . Me personally I dont care for MTX. I would recommend Alpine Type E or Those Kickers as a beginner sub. I have delt with many subs in my time even Audiobahn:furious: , and was very impressed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif with the sound I got out of my car with 3 10" Alpine Type E subs:) .

12" memphis pr's can be gotten off ebay for around $120 a pair... pr's are louder them compvr's (IME, same box, same amp, same vehicle...box built for the vr's) and sound better. IMO, the memphis pr's are the best entry level sub u can buy. and, if u buy from an authorized dealer, the warranty can't be beat....

mtx as always been a good brand. i wouldn't hesitiate to run mtx subs or amps again. (if the price was right..lol)

whichever fits the budget...but i think i'd do 4 10's ported over 4 12's sealed...lol..
