maybe if i prove to him 2 subs could sound better than 6 or 8 it'll do the trick i dunno but im getitn a new car n hope to be runnin two IDq12s and an ed9 so hopefully if that sounds like i plan and he hears it. it may change his mind i dunno

Refer him to the forum. We can set him on the right path. I see no reason to not install 6 12's. It's just a bit of overkill. And a waste of money. Add up all the money for the cheap low end subs, and you can buy 1-2 great speakers. That might even sound better. Most people will be amazed at how loud it is rather than how many he has.

It's like getting 2 8's to sound like 2 12's. I installed 2 RL-i8's in my boys expo and everyone that hears them wants me to build them a box. They swear they are 12's back there. It's all about the wow factor.

ok ok ok now before everyone starts *****in i would like to point this out...my lil brother wants bass...doesnt wanna spend alot, doesnt have to sound perfect, just wants something loud and to show off to his friends, hint hes 16, okay to the point of the thread, ive dealt with a few mtx subs and i loved every one, but, i was wondering if maybe 6 Roadthunder mtx 12s runnin say 200 watts to each one, in sealed boxes, do you think that would be pretty straight. he thinks of car stereo as sumthin you put in your car for everyone else to hear, and i cant convince him otherwise, this isn't an spl setup just a loud one, plus we live in the country so its really not gonna disturb anyone. and suggestions?

it will hit hard but i garrentee the subs will be blowin left and right,, even if the gains are perfect

subs like that cant handle very much heat, its only a matter of time before the weakest in the link is found

i agree on the memphis PRs i have a teamate who is running 6 of them with 4 1000d's and putting up 150-151 dBs on the new TL which is pretty decent for entry level. at one point he wqs giving each sub 1000rms

Tell him to get the new memphis M- Class woofers they are the new version of Studios and are a great sub abou 98$ from a authorized retailer I paid per 12 .
