Won't make you happy. Going with an SPL-oriented sub as your first isn't wise without some serious research.

So this is spl only and not much sq? I have a Hanes car entertainment manual and joined here for exactly this. I want to know EVERYTHING first.

Stroker = SPL. Balls out SPL in fact.

hah the stroker is an SPL machine. It may not sound good on easy listening, but it will wow your friends for sure.

OK heres a thought. My dad and I are good with mechanics and electrical wiring and were installing ouselves. What if I also bought a second softer sq sub or a woffer (NOT A SUB-WOFFER) in addition and installed it on another amp and channel. I could play normal music on the soft side and then (if someone blares rap next to me) I switch channels to the stroker and play Bach's Greatest Pipe Organ Works to drown them out?

DO a search for the FI BTL....now there is a sub! OR a level 5 DC...Heck even a lv4 dc and they are on sell right now..
