I kinda have a problem with fuse rating.

My amp draws 60 amps according to the manual. I have 8 guage power and ground wires. I found a chart for fuse ratings give wire guage, and it said 8 guage wire melts at apporx. 50 amps. So should I upgrade my wire or just use a 60 amp fuse?

What amplifier?

It is most deffinitly an 80A MAXIMUM current draw, that will probably never happen with music. You could do the smaller fuse, and if it blows you know the problem.

Its always good to upgrade wiring though, because eventually it will need to be done.
