i just installed a cd player and speakers...my battery is dead.

As you have read in the subject line my I recently installed a cd player and some door speakers this thursday. By friday evening my car was having trouble turning over. It would just be really slow. Saturday had the same results. Its important that i note i wasnt driving it these two days (on vacation).......i just happened to go in and check it out once or twice. I brought it to a car audio place and the guy looked at my connections and said i had the wires connecting properly...he just recommened i crimp my connections (i had the wires twisted and covered with electrical tape). I went back and made better connections but for now i have pulled out the cd player. I drove for about two hours and now my car turns over perfectly. Now we wait till morning to see if it drains over night without the cd player in so we can rule that out. Can anyone else see anyother possible causes. when i hooked up the door speakers i wasnt sure wich was the positive and the negative. They worked fine so i assumed i got it right. could this drain the battery? also...i didnt wrap the new speaker connections with electrical tape. im not sure if that would have any bearing. any comments are appreciated. thanks.

It could be just your battery going bad not holding a charge for any lenght of time.

Take you car to any local parts store that works on cars. they can test you battery and altenator for you free of charge.

If both come back ok then you have a problem.
