i just got a new batt

Guess you think your a genius. I had voltage drops years ago when I had a 25 farad cap and a stock alt, all good 0/1 ga wiring and a stock battery. I added a Yellow top under the hood, dropped the cap and did the Big 3 and never had another problem with voltage drops. So what I said was from experience, not just some random thought. And if you noticed what I wrote, I said it would solve "MOST" of his voltage problems, not all of them. Yeah, a HO Alt is the way to go. But getting a real battery and doing the Big 3 are the right steps to take before he dumps $250-500 on a HO Alt. And by a real battery I'm not talking about going to Sears and buying some DieHard or Interstate lead acid type battery. A good battery like a Kinetik or another AGM battery is the way to go.
I wasn't talking to you and yeah... I AM a genius.

lol ur sooooo wrong big guy.. not only does adding more batteries help rather than hurt, it also helps stable the voltages instead of taking it all from a few batteries. it pretty much spreads teh loads.
Lol no I'm not wrong. Prove to me that a battery doesn't draw current all the time and a cap does. Tell me how what I said is wrong. I can prove what I say. You're just a noob on the car audio forum that thinks you know. You haven't got a clue.

hehehehehe boy o boy o boy. u got some growin up to do on these forums or u wont have any friends. im not saying a battery doesnt draw current, what i am saying is that it isnt enought to hurt it, with the added help of the addition battery, it will surpass that and help out with draw backs. if u r soo smart, why arent the world champions using caps? huh ask urself that.. do u see a trunk full of caps or a trunk full of batteries. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif now before u get all pissy get ur warm bottle of milk on the counter and go take a little nap.. i feel its time for u to get some sleep as ur a little cranky.

Son am I in here promoting caps? Of course not. I said there is no replacement for a good alt in my first post. Your reading for comprehension skills are lacking... either that or you just thought you'd twist what I'm saying so it was easy to argue with. I'm not sure which but either way you're not smart enough to pull it off. Secondly, If you burp your system and your batts pick up the draw, when the amps quit drawing that heavy amount of current and the system voltage goes back up, what do you think happens? Your batteries draw what seems like an infinite amount of current from your alternator. They would read as a dead short for a few seconds. That will destroy your alternator extremely quickly. Sure you might be able to play your system and not have it drop below 12v for a while, but it will damage your alternator and maybe other things. It is no replacement for a good alternator. This is just a fact. You can argue it until you're blue in the face but doing things right the first time is ALWAYS better than a temporary solution that costs you money in the future.

What do you mean you weren't talking to me?? You quoted what I said then pretended to know what your talking about. If you weren't talking to me then you wouldn't have quoted what I said.
I meant to quote the other guy, but it doesn't matter, you're a douchebag too.

Edit: Also, how did I pretend? Prove how anything I've said is wrong... oh wait... you can't.

Edit 2: I just re-read. I got confused. I meant to quote you and just confused your name.

The thing is..my amp is shutting and my sub doesn't get lighter or cut either.

I simply notice the voltage drops because I have a PMA1000HCA (supposedly 3k rms alphasonik amp) and it comes with a digital volt meter. Sometimes I see the readings go down to 9...

I can possibly screw up the mofsets if I keep pushing them with the readings going under 12, right?

tahnks for the input.
