i have narrowed it down, now help me choose

well i dont have the opportunity to hear these in person but im simply goin off of research on the forums as well as reviews. so i think i narrowed it down. if it helps, the type of music i listen to mostly is drum n bass, trance, techno. mid bass is a must. it will be powered by a kicker zx650.4

Those two choices are just a step or two above the others quality wise. Kinda like the difference between driving a VW and BMW.

if you can't actually listen to any of the choices you listed then actually you are just playing a game of craps and hoping you get lucky when you roll the dice. Your ears are going perceive things differently than someone else's.

Best bet is to do research within these forums on the speakers you are interested in and see what people have had to say. But as far as build quality and on an engineering standpoint i stick to what i said.

Now from my experience i don't care for focal. i had some of their access line stuff. tweeters sounded like *** and blew within months. i think the quality of the passive network was junk but the 6.5" driver wasn't so bad.

The diamond tweeters are week and tend to blow or not last very long and depending upon what type of music you listen to or what you expect from a tweeter you might want to at least look into the s series and not the a series, the a series is an aluminum dome and can get very bright where the s series is a silk dome so it would be more smooth but probably not get as high in the frequency range. i think the hex stuff that was made about 5 or 6 years ago was better qaulity and sounded better than the new stuff.

I'll say it again, check out the HSK165.. May be a bit more expensive, but its well worth it. I've heard all the components above and even have a new set of those Focals sitting in my closet. The morels were my favorite until these new HSKs came out. Take a hard look at them before making your final decision.
