I found a refurb 8" L5 on ebay for $69 shipped, I think im going to go this route unless you guys can think of something better for the price.

L5 needs at least 1.75 cf how bout a bnib zeus 10" 300-450 rms 1000 peak with dual spiders dvc4 ohm 75 shipped 1 yr unconditional warranty and they pound sealed in as little as .50 cf.

how loud do they get? Do they sound good?

They sound quite good and get very loud due to their high efficiency - I have a single 12" in my truck right now off of 400 watts and it flexes the cab enough to move the windshield wipers a bit. OK, Pioneer Premier 10 then. SVC and DVC are available, Throw it in .6 and rock it.

Sh!t dude, shut up about pioneer, they **** for subs. Very poor sq.......sure they get loud kinda, if you like a huge peak in your sub stage, but I hate kicker and I would rather own a comp than a fukking pioneer sub!

my dads not going to care if he rattles any windows and he's by far not an audiophile. He just wants some bump in his truck. I know the L5's have pretty good output and I found the 8" L5 mentioned above and thought it was a good deal. The only pioneer experience I have with the pioneers are my old 2000spl's and my 3002's and I loved them. Plus my dad has always been a pioneer fan so it'd be nice if he ran something he's heard of lol
