I have $20K in the bank , and I need to build a musclecar.......

fox body mustangs are by far the fastest budget cars possible. 12k will get you a 9 second car. I build mine for 7.5k and it will dip into the 9s on spray. my buddy designs turbo kits so he could design you a system with all of the bends and everything for whatever application you want to run. he has a stock block 302 car making 430/520 at the wheels on 7lbs and it rips up lambos and vettes on the highway. if anything, a mod motor car is the worst thing to start with because the 2v platform is very very hard to really ramp up. my buddy did full suspension, T56, wheels/tires, some weight mods, cams, exhaust, and a T-trip on his 01 and it does very well but he has put more than you want to spend into it and its not an ultra fast car. as far as going F-Body, you could pick up a decent LS1/T56 car for around 6-7 grand and do heads, cam, intake, exhaust, and suspension and you'll have a nasty little street car. once again though, this could blow your budget if you do things the Right way.

old mopar cars in good condition will destroy your budget and you might spend quite a bit of money trying to make an old mustang coupe really fast so maybe a Nova would be a good car to look into. something cheap and abundant will please you. once again though, the fox body will be the fastest by far on a budget. power to weight is gangsta.

no way bro.. a musclecar is gonna take a shitload more $$ than a 90s-2000 car.... "mussclecar meaning 60s-70s )
No it won't I just posted a 70 Lemans that they are asking 7500. You could drop a 400 or 450 in it for ~3-4K. Parts are plentiful and fairly cheap. You want raw power then spend the money and get something that is actually worth it.

And I agree with sky on the Nova.

O so you dont want a Muscle car you want an american built ricer lol
Exactly...

Muscle Car....mine BTW

Not a muscle car

Sounds like he just wants something with a V8 and loads of power, not so much a "muscle car" per se. Although, in my mind that is pretty close to the definition of a muscle car, lol. I would have to agree with getting a fox body stang, dude. Although my buddy had a supercharged SN95 Cobra that was making like 510 to the wheels and he sold it for 8500 bucks. Did you want to buy a project that you can build yourself? Because it would be cheaper to just get something already built. His Stang ran low 10s all day long.

And yes there is... Its the kids that put an exhaust on a Mustang and think its a 10 second car just like the kids with the Hondas with fart cans hahaha

With gas prices skyrocketing the way they are, I would make some long term investments with that kind of cash, rather then spend it all on a newer style car (which will just depreciate) and mods that will only depreciate in value as soon as you install them. I mean having a 500+ hp car is sweet, but getting 10 mph is not. However, to each his own, and if you do find a nice ride, and get it modded, I would tune in for some build pics for sure.
