I have shipped through UPS many a times and have always packaged my stuff. They never once gave me a problem about the insurance on it. They simply say, how much is the package worth and how much do you want it covered for.have you ever even used the USPS tracking system? it is only available on express mail and international mail, otherwise it is "delivery confirmation", not "tracking"
since when can't you buy insurance from USPS? last time i checked you can add insurance to any form of mail
the $100 UPS insurance on every package is a joke, most of the time you can only claim it if UPS or a UPS approved shipper packages it for you
Also to note, I have had both USPS and UPS just leave packages at my door, which is an apartment. Hell I had one UPS guy leave a package at the far apartment, hidden under the steps! They are good though, as they leave a note telling you. But still..............Also I always get delivery/sig conformation and insurance.
