Thought you had data to back up your statement, didn't relize it was a general statement (A/B vs D). The reason I ask is my thread here."Using the formulas above even at 100% efficiency I don’t see how the Hifonics can output 1000W RMS if can’t draw more than 60amps."

I didn't even look at the amp, just going by your statement.

But you see, the Hifonics pulls alot more than 60 amps. It only has a 60 amp maxi fuse but that fuse can hold 120 amps itself for a couple of seconds. At full tilt the Hifonics is more than capable of pulling about 80-90 amps. I have a 105 amp alternator and with just the headlights running and the engine at 2500+ rpm's, it still dims my headlights at 1 ohm.

Being 1ohm stable has nothing to do with being a class D amp. Plenty of class A/B amps are 1ohm stable.

bah. its just a general statement by looking at a freaking picture =\

say you see a picture of 2 cars, one with a very long amp, and one with a small amp, both have the same sub, and they hit about the same DB number.

you can GENERALLY guess that the longer one is class A\B and the smaller is class D.

so - was i right? is this amp that he was thinking of buying class A\B?
