I feel like my gains are too high...?

Herts hsk 165.5 speakers. 100rms/300 max(i say max because...)

My amp is a sundown 150.4 150x4.

Currently running passive through the crossovers. Headunit is sitting at 75% volume, set gains to where its as loud as ill ever like it.

Thing is..that leaves gains at 75-80% of full mark. I feel like thats way too high. Am i missing something here?

On a side note. headunit puts out 4 volt output to amp.

Yeah bump the head unit volume up to 90% and reset your gains again.

Any particular reason why 90%, i thought thats when distortion is introduced. at the 75% mark

SO yea, i was doing some reading and i have a kenwood excelon HU and people say that those dont have any clipping even at max. Thats **** good to know

exactly lol. That 75% mark is for 100 dollar and under POS head units.
