I could use some help

I just got a new used car it has 50,000 miles its a 03 tiburon gt.I have a 12 month 12,000 mile covarge for any major issue (motor etc). I was offered a 30,000 mile 36 month bumper to bumper covarge for 1,400. Is that a good deal? I have the money but im out of work and the money could b spent eles where or saved. I have to get back to them by today and im just not sure what do. thanks

Aside from the major, could you imagine any repair costing more than $1,400? I don't really.

I'd probably keep what I have.

When I bought my truck, the offered about 7 different warranties.

The car drives good and i been going back and forth with the idea well it does not cover wear and tear. Its just the what if this or that happenes in the next 20-30000 miles or so. is 1,400 a good deal?

Well, how about being self-insured?

You put the $1,400 in a savings account and don't touch it! I doubt a car that new will need major repair during that time frame....You collect the interest on the investment to do whatever with and you are still insured.

U say you recomened are u in the car bussines? What is gap insurance?
Say you owe $8,000 on the car. Someone hits you (or you hit someone) and the car is totalled. The NADA value is $5,000. If you have gap insurance, it covers the difference between what you owe and the value of the car. If you don't have gap insurance, you have to cover that $3k out of pocket.

you should read the contract better, bumper to bumper is NEVER bumper to bumper. What you might buy will probably overlap the same shit you are getting for free. Seriously read the warranty. I have worked at car dealerships for the past 10 years. Bumper to bumper does not exist. Pm me if you need help.

^^ ohhhh thanks easy to understand, Its just i might spend the money, dvd deck new amp you know how it is. I have so much to pay for and im out of work and i dont want to have a major issue. I know its up to me in the end but im so confused

gap insurance is a great idea for most people. Not so much for me. I dont pay full price for cars anyways. Hell even if I **** a car up I got to the junkyard and get parts and fix it, collect my insurance check and come out ahead.

If you buy a new car the best thing to do is to get the best warranty you can from the manufacturer. Obviously you are not so IMO i wouldnt pay for shit. It will not cover anything. You really need to look at the contract better. People get so pissed when they think that their car is gonna get fixed for free and then they have to pay for $200 worth of fluids and it only pays like $50 an hour for labor and the shop charges $100 an hour. The money they spent on a warranty is ****en wasted.
