I cant pick a laptop! Help me choose

Think that will be to small? I kind of like the idea of it being small though actually
If you plan on using it for nothing other than word processing, internet, and videos, you'll be okay.

If you want anything more advanced, I'd get at least a 15" computer. The reason buing is that they usually can't fit powerful graphics cards in the tiny laptops, and their cooling systems are severely underpowered, which makes the computer get hot very quickly and lose efficiency. Not to mention they are usually more expensive.

It has the same video card as the 15 I was looking at (well not the studio I think that one has a bit better video card)

I dont know though do you think it will get to hot? I might play games on it a little bit but thats not what I am buying it for I have a gaming desktop so I am good there

It will be fine if you don't multi-task like crazy or play games. Their heatsinks and fans are just not large/powerful enough to cool it properly under heavy use, and you will feel a noticeable drop in the computer's efficiency. This also makes their parts fail prematurely in the long run. If you have a dedicated gaming computer and just want this one for taking notes in class or whatever, then I say go for it. They are really convenient.

picking a laptop is very dependant on what you will use it for
x2

For instance: If you're a college student who will be using this laptop in class for note taking and carrying it from class to class, the 1330's light weight and small form will be advantageous...just one example.

And also, anybody who thinks Dell's are bad is on crack. ANY machine that you buy right out of the box, whether it be HP, Toshiba, Gateway, Acer, etc. is overloaded with excessive crap. A fresh install will take care of any issues that would arise right out of the box. Dell's are made with alllllll the same components that other laptops are built with and Dell's quality control and build quality are top notch.

Don't criticize what you don't understand. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I do want to bring it to school in the fall that is my main reason for getting one. I think ill go with the M1330, I kind of want it to be able to run age of conan if possible though think this one will?

To all the computer nerds here, how do I wipe the computer out and start fresh?
1. turn on your pc

2. go into setup/bios and change the first boot device to cdrom

3. insert your windows disc

4. restart your computer

5. format and reinstall windows on the fresh partition

6. once installed insert your driver disc and install any drivers windows didnt already

make sure to go back to the bios and change the boot order back to hard drive first

Get the m1330 if you want to lug it to class.

The 8400 will be fine and you will be thankful you have such a lightweight computer.

I have a m1210, a 12" XPS that i absolutely love. Its super small and i take it everywhere. Plenty of power.

I ordered it

I saved $400 getting it from the dell outlet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif pretty sweet
