Well I have the opportunity to pick up a 92 dodge stealth for really really cheap. The engines been dyno'd at over 300hp to the wheels. I mean this thing is up for stupid cheap. Its in great shape except it has a shift fork broken for the reverse. Local shop quoted me 700 to fix it. What do ya think. I have the cash, but idk if i need another toy.

complete rebuild, bored 30 over, new cams, intake, headwork, pistons, injectors, bored tb. The car is absolutely nuts. I want it. But idk if i should. Id probably just get a bunch of tickets in it.

If its cheap (cheap enough that you could fix and resale for no loss if you wanted to) there is no question, do it.

Those cars are a blast to drive. If you can get in cheap enough, drive the hell out of it and if you want you can always get back out of it with no loss on the investment.

yea thats what I was thinking. The worst part is the ***** could cost me quite a bit. but i was quoted around 700 bucks to get it fixed. Even with what I can get it for and that cost its still way below book

I noticed you are up north too, how is the rust? can we assume its a "summer vehicle only"?

either way show us some pix //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Check actual prices on what they sell for, not just book. If you can come in under that with the repair you should just do it for the fun of it.

Just keep in mind that once you start doing performance work, and being rebuilt by people you don't know...problems can arrise if the work was shoddy...expensive problems. So there is still some risk involved.

the reason its so cheap for me, is because the guy who has it is like a brother to me and hes really hard up for cash. So the only person he is willing to sell it to is me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

sadly its only the es model. Not the r/t model thats a twin turbo and awd. The only things on this car that arent in almost perfect condition, is its missing a shifter boot. it has a cassette player in it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif and the rear window tinting looks like some blind a$$hole did it
