I Can't Believe This!

So I got my car interior repainted and almost put back in when I decided to plug in the cd player. Well with all the mess I sat the player by the shifter and it slid and hit metal. So it sparked, I didn't see any smoke or anything but now it's not powering on.

I checked the fuse on the player and it looks good, just slightly discolored on the teeth (kind of a burnt look) but the inside looks perfect. Under the dash the fuse looks fine.

Now I have a dead cd player from one slight spark? Is there any way I can check to see if maybe the wiring is at fault? What can I do to see if there's power coming in from the battery without a voltage meter?

Any suggestion to help I appreciate it.

Same thing happened to my amp a few times but it still works. You think the cd player is fried? How can I tell?

Thanks!

The fuses look fine. I replaced the one under the dash even though it didn't need it. The fuse on the player has no signs of being fried. I'm guessing that since it sparked that means there's power coming in. The only thing left must be the player is dead which sucks!

Your hard-headed, change the fuse on the CD player.
