So I got my car interior repainted and almost put back in when I decided to plug in the cd player. Well with all the mess I sat the player by the shifter and it slid and hit metal. So it sparked, I didn't see any smoke or anything but now it's not powering on.
I checked the fuse on the player and it looks good, just slightly discolored on the teeth (kind of a burnt look) but the inside looks perfect. Under the dash the fuse looks fine.
Now I have a dead cd player from one slight spark? Is there any way I can check to see if maybe the wiring is at fault? What can I do to see if there's power coming in from the battery without a voltage meter?
Any suggestion to help I appreciate it.
Same thing happened to my amp a few times but it still works. You think the cd player is fried? How can I tell?
Thanks!
