My friend is looking for an amp for a 1 infinity perfect vq 12.1d and he was considering this rf t3002 http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=2&series_id=7&family_id=23&item_id=100031&locale=en_US amp, and he was told by a co-worker that this amp could work just as effectively with an 8 gauge as an 4 gauge. This amp has an 80 amp fuse. RF recommends a 4 gauge btw. Please tell him to use an 4-gauge.

8 guage can only carry 55 amps and your amp has a max draw of 80 amps.

8 guage would probably work for that. why is 4 guage such an issue though? never know when you might decide to ugrade.

ps. IMO- theres' no such thing as overkill whenit comes to wires
