i am confused on this orion amp

its a 2400d hcca but specs say 1 ohm is 1200 rms but it says 2400 rms....orion doesnt overrate...so what is the true output @ 1 ohm

yes, the hcca 1200d = 600w, hcca 2400d = 1200w, hcca 5000d = 2500w, **** poor if you ask me

Yep, I agree that DEI was good at buying famous brands and running them into the ground. Unfortunately, Orion was no exception, even though they allegedly tried to turn the name around recently. I'd probably purchase an Epsilon manufactured PPI or Soundstream amplifier before I would purchase another DEI manufactured Orion amplifier.

EDIT: Back to the OPs initial point, DEI rated them to play the numbers game. That way someone would say "ZOMG, this is a 2400 watt Orion amplifier" even though it realistically would only give them 1200 watts RMS @ 1 ohm and probably go up in smoke several times before the warranty was up.
