I a real amatur and need some help with a sound system

I have just got a jvc head unit which can take 4 x 40, i have some standard factory speakers in the door panels and i wanted to put some 6x 9s in the back, but keeping the factory speakers (just turning them down) at the moment then changing them at a later date

will i need an amp ?

can i wire the 6x9s through the phono outputs in the back of the cd player head unit ?

there is speaker points in the car which im not gonna use, but there is no wires or anything

if u gonna get 6x9s hook em up to the wires on the deck that are for the rear speakers

if u wnat to amp them then use the rcas to the amp then speaker wire from amp to speaker

i wouldnt suggest to amp the rears just yet, caue they will for sure overpower ur fronts, i say work on the front stage 1st then move towards the back. infact some ppl suggest to amp the fronts and just use the hu to power the backs

If you have a new HU with 4 channels, and you only want to power two factory speakers, you should connect those factory speakers to the new head Units front speaker outputs "wires"

Install the 6X9's and connect those to the HU's Rear speaker outputs "wires, you will have to run speaker wires from the HU to the new 6X9's, Do not conncet any speaker wires to the RCA outputs of the deck, those are not powered and it wont work, If you do decide to get a AMP, get a 4 channel and those rca's will connect directly to the amp via rca cables, speaker wires are then run from the amp to the 4 speakers of your choice......
