So I decided to 3D print a subwoofer box over the weekend. It was a fun little project. It actually sounds decent and has enough output to get some things in my home rattling.

Around 18 hours to print! Box is .05 cubic ft and tuned to 51 HZ.

That's cool! Yeah, I bet it took forever to print. That's a lot of medium
I think it was around 400 some grams, nothing crazy but definitely took awhile. I think I could have sped up the movement speeds but in the end it might have saved me 45 mins or so and risked something not printing quite right. Not worth it. Haha

THAT IS SO EFING AWESOME.

I even typed it with added expression. We have a big fascination with 3D printing here where I work. We've been waiting for metal printing to become more mainstream. Printing ALT housing is possible, just not cost effective. The 3D print molds are actually stronger than CNC and just a tad weaker than cast.

You could print port inserts for boxes. That geometry you printed is impossible to cut out. Imagine that port geometry custom printed for a customers box build and it would just slid into their box

That's pretty cool. Imagine the possibilities when 3D printing gets to the point that you can print larger objects in less time. I don't know much about it, from what I understand, right now it's relatively limited and expensive to print on a larger scale.
