Does anyone make a plastic screen that will cover the screen of an IVA-W505?

Since I can't take the faceplate off, it wold be nice to be able to cover it up.

I wish it was a pull-out unit. These guys steal 24/7 around here and take no breaks. Your best bet is to get the JVC. The whole lcd panel comes off, but still not Alpine quality. I've had someone steal 2 different radios from me and I had the faceplate with me both times.

the jvc's are actually very nice units.

i was worried about getting a non-detachable screen around here. My car has been broken into but nothing was taken, just all over the place. no face plate on but i had the kicker remote bass knob on the dash but they didnt even open my trunk. Another time they busted the trunk lock out but couldnt open the trunk, it was strapped down with rachet straps thru the trunk floor. When i got a flip up i used 2 of the steel mounting straps, 1 up to the top of the dash and 1 to the back. Screwed into metal from the back side. Theyd probably just break it trying but better than them getting it

We moved most of the ghetto out of the area, but being 3 miles form my office rocks.

I'll just use it as Bait for my hunt . .:

Nothing says "stay the F_ck out of my car" like a pissed off 40 year old white male with a suppressed 6.8mm SPC M16 rifle and Softpoint hunting rounds . . . .

Or . . . I could just put a cover on it and not have to kill some douchebag for breaking into my car.

Not sure which option I prefer, but not having to jump up at 3am and run upstairs with rifle in hand and interrupt my sleep is marginally preferable to removing some bad genes from the gene pool becsue frankly . . . with the price of the ammo I shoot these days, the douchebag may not be worth the price of the bullet and powder.

So . . . . about that faceplate cover?

I'm going to be sitting my Avic-D3 about 3/8" further back in my dash, and disassemble my factory H/U to take the face of it off. Then I can just sit my factory faceplate over the front of my Avic when I get out of my car

I've never lived in the Ghetto. The last time my car was stolen, it was in a white area where most people have plenty of money.

My dealer who installed the IV-W505a today is fabricating a cover for the unit.
