has anyone done one???

Im an installer at a retail car audio shop. i havent done one yet. my buddy works at another shop and he said its pretty involving.

you have to go threw the fire wall into the underhood fuse box in order to get the defrosters to work. and there are 2-3 wire harness's you need to use and allso you have to hardwire the front speakers.

anyone have a diffrent way of doing so??

i guess i'll just have to figure it out when i have one pull into the shop??

yea ive been trying to get it for the shop but it's so corprate it take's a long time.

i really dont need it but it would be really really nice to have!!!!

Yes, I have done one. It is one of the more complicated ones, but it isn't so bad. So the trim around the gear box comes out, then remove the ashtray/12volt assembely. Then remove the cubby pocket. Once this is done you can see 2 screws below that hold on the radio - but you need to take out the A/C vents to get to the top screws. Take out the vents (very easy to scratch up the dash this point, even with a pick set. You can now take out the top screws.

For the harness, it is a 3 way harness, here is a pic.

There are a couple of dash kits, I found the Metra to be the best. The AI one squeaked like hell. The one that replaced the air conditioning unit is stupid and expensive.

I haven't done this since 04 or 05 ... so directions may not be that accurate ... but I have no idea what your friend is talking about. If you do a google search ... you can find step by step instructions for this car from Accord forums.

Good luck bro. I have an 05 Accord and I wouldn't dare pull the stock radio out cimply beacuse of the shape!

well thanks for the info.

my buddy said that you will go threw the firewall to the factory fuse box and find a pin for defrost??

the shop he work's at is very good at what they do...

but there prolly is other ways of doing this install.

They have new kits that use the storage pocket below the radio, so you keep the factory radio in, kinda dumb but much easier
