HU install for '98 Cherokee

I was looking at my cherokee a while ago and couldnt really find any screws to get to the headunit. Im just wondering if anyone else has installed on to similar years of Jeep Cherokees. I just want to know what Im getting into before I get everything.

you have to pop out the plasting trimming thing along with the vents its very simple...ill got take some pics and show you

Thats what I was thinking but didnt want to eff anything up. Just a screw driver or something? If you could take some picks please, id appriceate that. I mean dont go and dismantle everything just so I get a general idea

i just use a flathead screw driver with some tape on the end so i don't scratch any of the plastic

is that out of a Grand Cherokee? Because theres no panel around my stock headunit like that

There is still some kind of panel around it though, so it would work about the same.

i had a 97' what you have to do is pull off that hole trim piece. i pulled from the bottom, it all snaps in. put the truck in 1st gear so you have room to pull it out of the way easily. then it is 2 10mm bolts holding it in. the ground isnt in the wiring harness it is a slide on ground so you have to cut off the piece or what i did was used t tap to get it so i could reuse the ground when i sold the truck and put the stock back in.

Yeah, I had a '98 Cherokee 2 door..just pull on the bottom of the trim piece (down and diagonal from the 2 12v outlets) and the whole thing pops out, 2 10mm's and call it a day. Easiest car ever.
