So I finally got around to wiring up my Alpine CDA-9813 tonight. Everything went smooth until I tried to test it out. Everything powers up, and it appears to be working good, except I get no noise out of the speakers.

Nothing at all. I used a wiring harness, and the speakers are hooked up straight to the hu, I haven't hooked up my amp yet. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm not an Alpine dealer but have found some Alpine head units can have the internal amps turned off, this is the first thing to check. Do you have a dmm? What vehicle is this cd player installed in? Does the vehicle have a built in hidden amp that must be turned on in order to get sound?

How would you know if the internal amp was turned on or off? I have no idea what a dmm is. I installed it in a 99 blazer, which has no amp in it. Also, I previosly had a kenwood installed, All i did was swap them out, so I don't think it is anything wrong on the vehicle side of things.

Again, I'm not an Alpine dealer, but from reading numerous postings on other sites I understand that some Alpine's have internal amps that can be disengaged. If your cd player has a menu system on it, scroll through to see if you can find it as an option. A dmm is a digital multi meter. If I have a chance to look into the Alpine a little more, I'll be glad to do it.

press and hold setup for a couple seconds until it beeps, then press again a few times until you find "pwr-ic" then press band to turn it on/off.
