have a sony cdx 57000 and i was wondering what i can to do to solve my problem with hooking up my sub and amp i have power to amp for sure and have amp to sub wired fine but i do not seem to bee getting any signal to the amp from the rca cables any suggestions

if that model has sub preouts did you use them?

in some sony decks you have to turn on the sub preouts internally

i used the pre outs but i dont know what u mean or how to turn on the sub internally because im a noob

do you have the manual or see if you can find it online somewhere. see if for that model HU, you have to "enable" the preamp outputs; it might be an either/or thing like you can only use the internal amp OR the preamp outputs.

double & triple check connections. make sure there's no break in the wire. I'd suggest grabbing a DMM (digital multi-meter or a VOM volt-ohm meter) and measure resistance of the tip of the RCA cables to make sure it's low.

how do you know you're getting power to the amp? does it light up? is the amp turning on once you turn on your HU?

how do you know there's no signal coming off the RCAs? do you have speakers correctly connected or a meter measuring AC voltage?

i know there is power at the amp because i used a multi meter to see if there was voltage across it and there is

i know there is no signal because it was my friends old amp and it would light up if there was a signal going through it

so what should i do it dosent say anything about it in the nanual
