This series has answered the question about orders.

Didn’t know the orders exist with bass reflex!

Question: Does down facing add an order to the enclosure?

Would down-facing/ sealed be considered a 3rd order enclosure?

No, how you face the driver shouldn't add an order.

But a down facing sub interacts with the ground.

This alters the spectrum in recorded output.

But the natural roll off DB could define the enclosure order?

Any direction you orient a sub can affect it's output, this true even more so in a car. Nevertheless it doesn't add an order and generally doesn't affect roll off.
