How would this sound?

Still battling on what to put in the Civic and thoughts have been running through my mind to just replace the 6x9's and 6.5's with upgrades instead of doing the two amp/components/sub thing. Would the standard head unit power be enough to do the job or would I still need an amp? What 6x9's and 6.5's would do the best job running in this configuration? Need some help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/scared.gif.f134e57c6c93ccd0f15aa5ac32c7d4a0.gif

Completely depends on what you are after. If you just want "sound", any sound, then that will work. If you want "great sound", or great sound quality, then go for comps w/ an amp. Not everyone wants great sound quality....so if you just want something that will play the music then go with the co-axials off of the HU.

Replacing stock speakers is a waste. Unless your planning on adding an amp. You probably will not gain much running off the HU.

Even if you upgrade the 6.5's and 6x9's and hook up an amp you will be happy. No need for comps If you just want decent sound.

So say some Alpine, Infinity, MB Quart speakers with a decent amp.

This helps guys!

I just got thinking the other day of why I bought this Honda..... as a driver! I need it to get the groceries in, do the kid thing, etc... I do like good sound quality music though. I have about 1.5k in my truck system and bought a bunch of stuff (another 1.5k) for my Buick racecar and was about to pull the trigger on the Honda except I really think I need to keep it as near-normal as possible so it is usable 100%. I should have the 760MP head unit on the step at home today when I get there to replace the stock Honda unit. As for the 6x9's I would imagine I want my bass to come from there. What 6x9 out there pounds? I kind of figured 6.5" coaxials for the front for the mid/highs? What is considered some of the best out there? What would I need for an amp to drive all this? I think the amp can be mounted in the trunk 100% out of the way and make the car fully functional.

get some rainbow coaxials, some mb quart coaxials, some jbl coaxials, arc audio coaxials, image dynamics coaxials, i would go with the rainbows or ID's.same thing for 6x9 and get a clean amp that puts out around 50-75 rms depending on how much the speakers take, run the 6x9 all pass around 65hz and run the coaxials high pass around 80 hz and boom youre done.
