if you don't turn it up completely - it serves as a variable. Other wise if you have it all the way up and unplug it - it sounds the same.

Some control a boost in a certain frequency. Say 45hz 0-18db.

Others are like a remote gain control.

either way... they arent really a good idea... more rice for the high schoolers...

PASSIVE bass knobs are best, powered ones will give you trouble. I'm sure you can build one out of a dimmer switch. (There I go again)

I dont see anything wrong with that bass remot.

Anyways i do not see anything wrong with using them i used the one that came with my kx400.1 turnd half way up. I dont know about my new amp yet the kx1200.1 have not instaled it yet still need my subs to come.
