Run a fused wire from the + of your front batt to the positive of your back battery. Ground your back battery to a good ground, preferably the frame. Or you can run an unfused ground run of wire from the neg of your front batt to the neg of your back batt.

yah you want a fuse between the rear battery and the amp

front battery ----> (18") ----> fuse -----> wire ----> fuse ----> (18") -----> rear battery

Dont mean to threadjack but basically asking the same thing. Ok I've heard on here to have two fuses between the front and rear battery within like 18" of each battery. I went to my local installer and told him Im gonna need another fuse holder and stuff to add the second one close to the back battery. He said no if you just have the one fuse then that wire is protected and I just need to put the other fuse inbetween the back battery and the amp??? So just making sure from you guys that I actually need three fuses right, two on the same positive wire and then one from the back battery to the amp?

yes, otherwise both ends of the fuse holder are still hot.

you fuse both ends to protect the wire between them.

If your subwoofer amp has fuses on it already, I don't see a need for a fuse in between amp and back batt, as long as it is a short run.

I have an old directed 2400D which I dont see any fuses on, and then a RF p300.2.

Grandprix said I should use 4 fuses...two on the main wire(which I still dont understand why I really need two on the same wire) and then another fuse inbetween the rear battery and each amp.

Is it good to keep stock battery in front and put a redtop in the trunk??
