I have a JL Audio XA-CLR9CON-20 "9-wire". How do I strip the main wire without affecting the insulation on the 9 wires within? My automatic strippers are too small and it's hard to be delicate with a razor :/
For what it's worth. I used a razor blade, cut 1.5" down two opposite sides of the main insulation with the razor going between two of the inner insulated wires which have a thicker plastic on them. I then folded down the sides and used pincer pliers to cut off the excess. I miraculously didn't cut the inner wires. Would still like to hear the proper way to do this if anyone wants to chime in.
