i just had a box built for me that has a big slot port. i still get port noise. the thing is, when the bas stops than i can hear the air. its like its being spitted out. the box is tuned to 45hz. how can i stop this without building a new box?. i was told by a friend that maybe its because the music i was listening to had a lower freq. than the box, so when the bass hits low, that it makes that noise. ( something like that lol.. not sue his exact words )...is this true? he told me that all i have to do is get a different chip or something for my audiocontrol, and it will cancell out or stop the port noise. can someone help?

sorry if u guys cant understand what im typing...lol...i just dont know how to word it..

tuned to 45 just for the hell of it.lol. the sub is a massive audio dmx stage 2 12". its an spl sub that likes to be tuned high. i decided to get another box built and tuned to 45 just for the heck of it. its not installed yet, i just had the chance to hear it at the shop that built it for me. i checked to see if there was any visuall wholes or cracks, and there is nothing that i can see, but i cant hook it up either because im dong a whole different install again. ill try to get some pics up, my digi cam broke so i have to use a cell phone. if i can find the pc adapter...lol...but ill try to get some pics.

lol...not even sure...lol. i figure ( just by looking at it )...3-4" wide and about 13-15" high. the port wall looks around 11-12 inches deep. all give or take. sorry, i dont have a tape measure at the moment. the guy at the shop said something like 50-52 something of port. not sure what exactly he said or ment. i can always have a new one rebuilt, but i'd rather not.

lol make ur port lik biggr lol theysres chipz that lol make it less port noiselol cuz thats liek totilly logikal lol

How do you expect us to help when you can't answer a few questions?

Also, having the port tuned that high will cause everything to sound funny below 40hz. Your friend is probably correct.

And how can you say your sub likes to be tuned high when you think there could be a chip to stop port noise? Wow... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

port noise is caused by high port velosity....

there is no way to fix it with out rebuilding the enclosure

with the proper sized port to bring the port velosity down

I would also check for air leaks around the sub and all the

seems of the enclosure
