How to run a Nintendo 64 in the car?

you have to hook up the y/w/r from the console to INPUTS to the HU. the signal goes OUT of the console IN to the HU. thats where you is fuckin up bruh
what kind of inverter you got?
Like I said earlier "I've got the yellow in AV-IN/R-CAM and as for the red/white the options are AV-OUT, REAR SW and FRONT. So logically I put them in AV-OUT... does this mean I don't have the capabilities to run a console? " .....

There is no AV-IN for the w/r. I do not have an inverter yet, when I was just messing around with it, I had it hooked up to a wall outlet, this couldn't possibly be the problem, could it?

Look through your user manual and make sure your settings are correct. My guess is you need to set up the AV input.
I bought it used so I have no user manual. I'll try and find one online and look that up.

well then, if there is no w/r input, then you'll have no sound. running off of a wall outlet vs an inverter won't change anything.

also, logic would tell you that you need inputs, not outputs..... just sayin

and HERE is the installation manual for your HU.

and HERE is the owners manual.

put the yellow(video) into the av/r-cam input.. go to settings and set that option to av in.

thats the first thing before you buy the next piece.. if that works then get a dual rca to 3.5mm plug to plug the L R audio into then plug that into the aux in..

D'oh! Yeah I got one of them. Now time to try to hook up the playstation again. So with just the yellow in, the game should show, just have no sound, correct?
Seriously? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Ok this is what happens...

Setup --> AV Interface --> AV-OUT set to AV-IN (other options: dvd, ipod, usb, off) ..... then I have "AV-IN Name" set to Game (other options:video, dvd, aux, then more)

Then I go back to the main screen and go to Video, and get a blank screen. Any ideas?

so you can set the AV out to be AV in? do that and hook it up right there. set the HU to 'av in' or the like and you should be gold
The AV-out is set to AV-in, and it did not work. As for setting the HU to AV-in, I see no where I can do that...when I go to the homescreen and hit Video it shows the blank screen and at the top it says "Video - Game , Mode - Full, AV Out - Video" .... but shouldn't the AV-Out be set to AV-In? Even after returning to the settings the AV-Out is still set to AV-In...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

idk bro... my JVC has a source button. you'd hit it to jump from tuner to cd to ipod, ect. thats what i mean by set the HU to av-in. sound like you did that.

did you rtfm?

Right I have the same source button and it has all those things you mentioned. There is no direct "av-in" button.. the closest thing to it is Video, the rest wouldn't make sense in trying to hook up the video game console.

lol are u trying to put an av out on the headunit to an av out on the system. and the reverse cam plug has a wire that engages it right?
Ummm.. I've got the yellow in the AV-In. Not sure if this answers your question. And not sure about a wire that engages it...? Don't plan on using a reverse cam anyway, so does this matter towards my problem?
