How to rate your subs

I want a spl meter that goes up to 170-180 dbs and is under $30

Then get this says it reads up to 160 but I've had mine reading 161 ;p. Wire it to a cigarette lighter plug like I did and mount it some where with a few strips of velcro. I can throw it in any car any where. That has a working cig lighter of course.

ive got a meter that will go up to 150db and is very accurate. very close to tl readings. check the for sale link in sig

So you just go around to cars and tap into the wires on their cigarette lighters? Sounds efficient to say the least.

nope, It is a plug. Just like your phone charger. Easy to hook up that way.

Thats a good deal for that. I would rather have that than mine. His is more accurate. But the epic-160 does have bass enhancer and voltmeter also.

I don't need anything extremely accurate. I don't care if it's even 3dbs off. I just want an estimated of each system. I would love to not pay any more than $40

3db's is short-sighted if you're not using industry standard equipment. Any meter will work well enough to at least give you a reference as to who's louder and what not. Just remember the numbers you get will likely be nowhere near what a TL will read. Also keep in mind that switching from one car to another will cause inconsistencies due to meter placement, etc.

Don't live by the numbers and be careful about placement and you'll at least know who's louder.
