How to rate your subs

I see people all the time having their subs hooked up at a laptop and it shows them how many dbs it hits.

How do I do that? What program is it? How do I hook it up? What do I need?

I want to be able to compare my friend's sub and my sub against each other.

649 bucks for the base model and only 1 mike + shipping. Supply your own computer. Or go to a shop and give them 5 or 10 bucks to rent their meter.

you can get what around here we call a boom stick....they do reading to i believe around 140 ish and go for around 30-50 just aren't sure how reliable they are

After reading this thread I can imagine you will need way more of a threshold than that. I'd go for a minimum of 210-400.

LMAO, only Sony Xplodes and Funky Pups are capable of db production that high.
