how to power my amp....

What are you using for a signal source?

for the sound?

my computer...ive not connected it yet.

and for the remote turn on...the 12v off that battery.

if im doing anything wrong..please inform me...i dont feel like loosing $ or my life today.

i figured you were gona do it with a crappy setup. dont run that, you need to keep that battery charged and giving that sundown constant voltage. you will end up frying it from voltge drop. i wouldnt do it if i were you, just go put it in your car.

the voltage drop will fry it???

uhmm....ok...i guess i wont do it...thank you.

yeah it can hurt your amp to the point where its cripled

can you elaborate?

id like to learn more about how the drop of voltage hurts my amp.

and is there any other reason why this is a bad idea?

you are asking your amp for a certain amount fo power. it needs power to make power, when it trys to get power the voltage drops, and your amp has to work even harder and harder to try and put out what you want, you will end up overworking your amp and overheating it and it will fry. and also your signal source is not a good place to come from

Your amp (and every other amp out there) is designed to create X amount of wattage output when fed on Z amount of voltage input @ so many amperes.

When that feed is dropped from Z amount of current to Y amount of current then you're starving the amp's power supplies for input voltage, they struggle to keep up with the output demand (and fail) and then things start to go bad and quickly.

It's about as intelligent as attempting to run your 1,000HP drag car down the 1/4 mile at full throttle knowing that you only have .25 liters of fuel in the tank.

Whereas the drag car will merely run out of gas and shut down the results tend to be a bit more dramatic when talking in terms of electrical gear...

thanks guys....you guys saved my sundown //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
