How to hook up an eq?

yeah that is what i will probably do, an idea popped in my head that maybe i can buy an eq and hook it up to the h/u so that i don't have to send it to the shop and have them take their time on it.

also technically you can buy a cheap headunit that has 1 set of preouts thenconnect that to an eq like the clarion to make it 7 volt for f/s/sub/aux?

thanks

A lot of low end HUs only have a sub out, so no.

I have never owned one of these 'low end HUs'//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but was under the impression that they have a full range out...not sub out:confused:

loc's degrade quaility of sound?
You are converting from a high level signal (speaker wires) to a low level signal (RCA's), there will inherantly be noise added. Using an LOC also means you are relying on the h/u's amplifier for providing signal to your amp(s), and h/u amplifiers are notoriously dirty.

sounds good thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if i were to purchase and ok headunit that lets say has 1 rca output that is rated at 2 volts and i purchase the clarion eq and hook it up that way from the eq to the hu straight with rcas would that be a wise decision? ( or just purchase a good headunit)

Id just look into a h/u that has a good built-in processor.
