i had this same problem in 2003 when i got my first car. My parents said we got you this car (1996 Chevy Blazer) why do you have to go put these big speakers in the trunk blah blah blah
show them that you know what your talking about, research all about car stereo stuff be it here or somewhere else, learn all the aspects about it, show them that its an interest you have not just something you want to spend money on.
and if all else fails...have a friend order you all your equiptment after you pay him and borrow the car for a day and do the entire install in one day...
