Anyone know how to get a sub made - i have a design that i wanna try out but i dont really have the materials / tools / machines to do it

Got about $5000 bucks for start up R&D costs? Have you ever drawn up an autocad blueprint for a CNC machine? Better learn to, it should only take you a couple of years....unless you want to pay someone to do it and the going rate is $150 a drawing, you'll need about 30 of them once revisions are done.

Actually if your an SPL competitior, there is plenty of reasons to do this....coil configuration, custom electomechanical specs via custom wound coils, specificlally designed super light and strong cones, multiple spiders.....I could go on and on.

There are a few companies that can cater to this, TC Sounds being the forefront on my mind....they make a few versions of subs you can get semi-taylor made. American Bass / Atomic SJA also does something similar.

Best bet i think would be contact someone like TC and mention your idea and tlak it over with them.

uh, who told you that? lol. I can build my own sub and compete in MECA all day long.....I can fart out the side of my car on drive by, and as long as the meter reads it i'll get my trophy.
