Got a Blown Hifonics 1208d from a friend. She powers up perfect but NO SOUND. When i opened her she had several blown resistors/transistors (i think thats what there called). anyway almost the same thing happened to my Hifonics 1608d, except it was only 2 transistors that popped off the board that just needed re-soldered. And i re-soldered them and it worked again.

I took pics and wanted to know from you guys what should my first move be to fix it?

If i need to get new resistors/transistors what size, kind, etc....

JUST Let me know whatya guys suggest i do 1st

your amp looks like the power supply is toast. it could possibly have shorted outputs that caused the power supply to go poof.

the are burnt gate resistors in the pics. the power supply "fets" and the gate drivers, and those gate resistors will have to replaced. the power supply ic chip controller must be replaced as well..etc....etc....

the best thing to do is send it to somebody who knows how to fix amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
