How to fit 7.2 ft^3 with 134 in^2 of port area @ 33hz in a Charger trunk...

customer really wanted to put Three 12" L7's ported in his trunk... after some thought i figured it could only fit (while still being removable) by making the box in two pieces... on to the pics

all the pics i have for now:

notice how the box splits... the back chamber is screwed into the the front chamber inside the box... your only able to seperate them when the subs are out of the box

see how the cut through for the box and then the port also follows through

thats how it sits as of now...

ill get alot more pics of it carpeted and installed tommorow

got the front box (not going to carpet the back since it wont be seen) carpeted today...

buuut, im satisfied with the way it sounds and it can do a small hair trick... not bad for 1500 watts in a trunk car imo

the customer has to come back over tommorow so i can try to deaden his rear deck (it jumps up and down and makes a bunch of noise.. lol)

ill get some pics of it installed and maybe get some vids then

it fit in his car... barely...

had to remove the factory carpet floor thingie and the covering for the rear deck (knew i was gonna have to pull that the whole time tho)

if i build another one i can make a few slight adjustments so the floor wont have to be pulled...

and im waiting on the guy to call me now, when he comes back over ill get some vids/pics of it installed

He isnt gonna be able to bring it by till the weekend... had to go out of town for an emergency

but imo it sounds very smooth and loud, tuning is very good and the trunk doesnt rattle as much as i thought it would

moves a good bit of air below 40 hz as well

but i would remove the rear deck and deaden that bish real good before you put a big box like this in because his jumps up and down while making an terrible rattling noise, im gonna have to fix that as well
