how to disconnect a cap

Im getting a new car so I have to rip everything out. I remember when I put the cap in the I had to charge it and the book said I had to discharge it before unhooking it. The only problem is that I lost the book and I don't know how to discharge it. I still have the bulb. Any help is appreciated

Connect the lightbulb just like you'd wire up the amplifier or whatever load you were using with it...let the bulb drain the charge from the cap.

When i had a cap, i discharged it by purchasing around a 25 ohm resistor, and touching it from positive to negative.

you dont have to buy a resistor. Just use the bulb that came with it and touch it from positive to negative

I didnt mean to go buy a resistory, I was just saying how i did it. But yeah the bulb will work.

FVCK just touch one end of the bulb to the positive and the other end to the negative ON THE CAP. And wait until the bulb goes out.

The battery would just keep charging the cap back up as usual...
