How to disable the **** 'beep' on pioneer headunits? (480MP)

oh guys are not getting my meaning... i mean the beep the hu makes for each time i press a button on it or on the remote.. you know, the feedback beep... ****, isnt this how it's called there??

For example, when you press a button to change songs... or change radio stations.. it makes a confirmation beep.

Yes. That's what I'm talking about too. That's the one I'm not sure how to make go away on my 880.

Are you running this through external amplifiers or are you using your deck to power speakers.?? I know my 860 had this beep too but it was very faint when using the pre outs compared to when you use the deck power.

^I think the beep comes from the HU itself (from an internal buzzer), rather than through the speakers or pre-outs. (?)

480MP probably can't disable it because it's too low end (or Pioneer is just stupid and doesn't have that feature on any HU, lol).

yup: there's an internal speaker that will make the beeps.. i'm wondering if i can open up the hu and disconnect it somehow, but i'm afraid it's soldered to the mainboard of the hu... does anyone know about this?

Yeah it will be a little "buzzer" type device (like that seen on computer motherboards), soldered to the board.

You could desolder it but first you should know what you're doing before attemting that; and, second you'll void your warranty by doing that as well.
