Im ready to get the grand am going again.. I just need some opinions on how to get the crease dent out of it so i can at least get the windshield in before it gets soaked iinside.. The only problem is that theres about a 4" wide crossmember across the front of the skin.. so its nearly impossible to pound it out from the bottom

lawl. yeah slide hammer. that's about it. have fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

hammer it from the inside then slide hammer

My car kinda looked like that before. My dumbasses friend jumped onto my car while I was driving. Luckily he only broke a couple ribs, because I sure as hell felt like running his *** over for good after he did that.

depends, if i was going to do it, i would drop the headliner, tap out whatever i could, then i would go with the stinger method, gas welding rod and just weld 15-30 dollies on there and just pull n tap, and then grind the metal until it heats up enough the it will heat most of it out...how are you going to fix it? i dont know, depends on if u feel like painting it...

naa it was a deer.. The pillars are fine just the dent .. It wouldnt be tough if the crossmember didnt go all the way across the roofskin on the inside,,, Theres just no way to get anything in there the member looks like a U .. Also kind of like a sound channel.. Its welded to the skin on both ends of it and the wide part in the middle is a 1/2 down or so

Im not much of a welder, and my buddys gonna sand/ Paint the whole car for 500+ paint.. Which will be good enough.. Not that he doesnt to very good work.. its just not worth a $2k paint job for what im going to be using it for

u dont have to be a welder. just have to make sure the dollies are secure to the panel and then pull them up, then tap down, pull/tap, it'll take u an hour or so..no big deal....and oh my god who buys a new car for a dent?

what about some 4x8s on the floor and another 4x8 on a jack, and jack the crossmember back up?
The crossmember isnt bent... Its not flush with the skin its about a good 3/4 inch down from the skin ( for strength ) if i jacked it up all that would happen is i would bend the shit outta the member and push it flat to the skin.. Then my headliner would prolly not fit right either
