Hello all, I have a general question about how to wire 2 subwoofers to a 2 channel amp
(please don't knock what I have, i got a very good price on the lot and am not looking for competition grade, just some extra bass)
2 Sony Xplod 12in SVC 4ohm subs
1 Sony 2 channel amp rated at 185rms x 2, 400 rms in bridged (cea compliant numbers)
What gets better results (or rather the pros in cons) between wiring it 2 ways
1. Wiring them parallel and running the amp in bridged mode (2ohm impedance)
VS
2. Wiring each sub to a channel (4ohm impedance on both)
From what I understand I will lose stereo sound with wiring them in parallel but seeing as subwoofers are omnidirectional I don't think this is much of a loss.
So what are the pros and cons of wiring them these 2 ways, which provides more volume and response time, and just plain sounds better?
I'm guessing this has been answered before but I can't seem to word this easily in a search to find results and the rest of the web has been rather useless on the subject.
TL;DR? whats better, parallel bridging subs vs running each sub off of 1 channel.
Thanks for the help (and don't rip on my too hard please, first post.)
