how much power did you run to your type R?

so i should have no problem running a pair on a hifonics 2008D,i figure im going to set the gain to give 1500 watts.

i've ran several of my 12s on 750-1000+ watts daily before and they handled it just fine.

though if you decide to rattle some things they can get stinky if you're not watching.

any idea what should set the sub sonic on my amp if my box is ported to 33hz?

usually it needs to be 5hz below tuning

so 28hz for yours.

i talked to a guy from fi and he told me to set my subsonic at 30hz (my box is tuned to 34hz)

voltage @ amp floated around 14.1

Used Alpine Mrd-M1005 (1000 Rms 1800Peak) and it would get smelly if I bumped it really hard. Seemed like that power was perfect for it.

Edit; On a 15 woofer.

Edited my post after you read it. Ran a 15. Really an indestructible sub. Had smoke come out of the ports twice and it never missed a beat. Once and awhile I would smell the coils getting hot....Lowered the volume at that point and never had a problem. 1.5 yrs of abuse and it pounded with authority.
